Thank you for taking the time to stop by my biographical page. If you are looking for a dry recitation of all of my accomplishments, degrees, and various memberships in organizations that will probably mean nothing to you, this is the wrong place. I believe that what is more important to you is an answer to the question, can you help me with my case? And in the classical style of a lawyerly answer I will say, it depends. I can promise you a fair and honest assessment of your case from a fairly uncommon perspective, you see, I wasn’t always a lawyer.
I like to tell people that I used to have a real job, I worked for a living, and I know what it is like to sit on that side of the desk. I’ve walked down the steps down into Newport News Shipbuilding on a cold February morning, into the Continental Plant, Howmet Turbine, and countless other facilities where we all earn our living. I was raised by Newport News Shipbuilding and am proud of my dad (X11) and mom’s (X33) accomplishments and the time I spent there. But, working for a living got to be boring, so at the ripe young age of 40, I went to law school, and here we are.
Our legal system can be confusing, confounding, and downright scary, even more so if you are not a practicing attorney. Deadlines, pre-trial, notices, and various filings of shape and size may or may not be a part of your case. What I can offer you is an opinion composed of years of experience both inside, and outside of the legal system. I try to skip the mumbo-jumbo when I can and let people know where they stand in terms I would have understood before law school. Whether you have a complex civil matter like a divorce or personal injury, financial problems, or have been charged with a crime, I firmly believe that I will be able to assist you.
